How to cure Tinnitus?

Well firstly as most of you already know, Tinnitus can be caused by many reasons right from the simple problems like "Wax in your Ears" to serious problems in "One's Heart".

You must be able to find your cause first. Go for a hearing test called "Resonance" and an ENT surgeon can be sure that you don't have a hearing problem if your results are positive. These results also can be used to rule out other causes and doubts raised in the doctor's mind. For example, if the hearing is perfect then the doctor can rule out that there is liquid on the inside of the ear drum or air blocked on the other side of your ear drum. Also upon physical examination one can find out if there is any hole in one's ear drum, which might also be the cause of temporary tinnitus. However if this is the case then your problem won't last long. If you are a regular music fan or a regular to partying with loud music then this might be the cause. If you started having this problem ever since your ears got blocked after a severe cold then you can be sure that your tinnitus is permanent unless it goes away within a month's time. This is because at times the auditory nerve is permanently damaged sometimes due to severe infection and no matter what medications you use, this will not help your problem. Even drugs with steroids will not help in curing this problem if your auditory nerve is damaged. There are many misconceptions about Tinnitus arising due to excessive masturbation.Well all I can say is that this is only a myth and hasn't been proved so far.

AYURVEDIC TREATMENT

Well in Ayurveda, Tinnitus is associated with the Vata dosha. There are many kinds of oils that are used to treat Tinnitus in the ancient Indian Culture. One needs to take daily dose of a few drops of these specially prepared oils in the ears to get completely cured. However I have not heard any prominent results so far.

COPING WITH TINNITUS

There are lots of techniques one can use to cope with chronic Tinnitus. For example I use White Noise which cancels out my Tinnitus partially so that I don't have any problem sleeping. White Noise can be anything from Fan sound to the sound of gushing Water.
You can try meditation daily. As far as I am concerned this is the best solution, though concentrating on calmness is hard initially.

It will be difficult to tolerate tinnitus when you have cold or cough especially as the suffering is too high, but then again there are good days and bad days with your tinnitus.

Anyways it is only hard for the first three months when you are effected with Tinnitus, as one will get used to it afterwards. The human body takes atleast 3 months to get habituated to any new environment or  a major change in life.
